take a hike

We hiked up Telegraph Pass with some friends this week. Hunter actually made most of the hike up by himself! WOO HOO! :)

hey now, you're a rockstar

Andrew was pretending to be a rockstar the other night, but it was his little brother who really stole the show. Move over Jonas Brothers... you've got nothing on the Moon Brothers!

how inspiring

Andy and I watched the Golden Globes last night (he was very excited to see that Wall-E won for Best Animated Character!). And while I found many of the awards recipients to be rather vain... I was especially moved by Tina Fey's acceptance of her award for Best Female Lead in a Comedy and the speech linked above by Steven Spielberg. We can all use some inspiring words during these tough times and he really filled that niche. Thank you Steven.

finally, a trend I'm happy to support

The Las Vegas Sun posted an article this week about the new meaning of "Leaving Las Vegas". And it seems as though our family is not alone in its blatant desertion of the Sin City. The article highlights the problems our former city faces in keeping its residents and its jobs. And while I am sorry for the city's troubles, I am not sorry to be out of its ill graces. I'm pretty sure Mayor Goodman doesn't read this blog, but if he did I would urge him kindly to put down his martini glass and hit the streets. Meet the people one on one and find ways that you can help them. Nevada used to be the fastest growing state and the heart of that growth was in the Las Vegas area. Now, even here in Phoenix, I hear neighbors talking of Las Vegas as a ghost town. But even us ghosts have moved on, to spook new neighborhoods across the west.
